The Challenge: Delivering Memorable Cybersecurity Training
This week, Escape Time carried out an innovative team-building and corporate-training project for Porto Seguro’s Information Security team. Over two consecutive days we set up customized escape rooms at two different company locations:
Day 1 – Barra Funda Unit
• 1 escape room for up to 12 simultaneous participants
• Focus on collaborative cybersecurity challenges
Day 2 – Downtown Unit
• 2 simultaneous rooms for 7 and 8 players each
• Multiple sessions throughout the day to maximize reach
Result: Nearly 300 employees impacted in just 48 hours, with extremely positive feedback on engagement, learning and fun.
Methodology: “Stop. Think. Then Act.”
The core concept of the gamified experience was to reinforce the essential digital-security mantra “Stop. Think. Then Act.” – a fundamental preventive approach against cyber-attacks.
During the immersive challenges, participants faced scenarios that simulated the main corporate cyber threats:
– Phishing and social engineering
– Leakage of confidential information
– Weak passwords and poor credential management
– Unauthorized access to critical systems
– Malware and ransomware
Each puzzle linked technical cybersecurity-awareness concepts to real-world workplace situations, turning theory into practice in a playful and memorable way.
