#EscapeCult - The first horror movie in the history

The film world has a huge variety of catalogues. Every year, they launch several productions of the most varied: comedy, action, cartoon, romance, fiction, among others. After all, we all love a bucket of popcorn and a good movie. And among those categories, one that stands out, raking in billions in lotteries a year, is the horror genre. Successes such as: The Exorcist (1973), Mortal Games (2005), The Shining (1980) and The Nightmare Hour (1986) managed to reach incredible marks and have, to this day, fans all over the world. But, citing all these movies, do you know which was the first horror movie in history?

The first movie wasn't exactly a movie, because there weren't all the productions and glamorizations that we have today. But in 1896, Frenchman George Méliés reproduced a 2-minute short film entitled Le Manoir du diable (The Devil's Mansion), which tells the story of a knight who enters the devil's house and is attacked by illusions. Initially, the story was intended to entertain the audience as it has done in other productions, but the images impacted viewers and the short became the first horror production in history

After a while, in 1910, it was time to give space to the Frankenstein monster, in a 16-minute short, which narrated the life of a young science student, very interested in the mysteries of life and death. So, he decided to create a human being by gathering pieces of corpses and finally managed to reach his goal. But to his horror, instead of a person, what appeared before his eyes was a monster that terrified him all along, and as a bonus caused a lot of fear in the audience.

As early as 1920, the first horror feature film finally appeared, Doctor Caligari's Office, talking about Francis and his friend Alan, who visit Doctor Caligari's office and meet Cesare, a somnambulist who tells Alan that he will die. So it happens and Alan dies the next day, which makes Francis suspicious of Cesare. Francis then begins to spy on what the sleepwalker does with the help of the police. To discover all the mysteries, he believes there is only one solution: to enter Doctor Caligari's mysterious office.

From then onwards, the genre has gained more and more space and preference from the public. With super productions, lots of effects, stories based on real facts, the horror category is a glimpse of scares and fear of turning out the lights. And this year, we had the premiere of the third horror film in the highly successful Evil Invocation franchise. expectation and box office for the cinematographic universe.
