Counting up to the Rio-2016 Games, Brazil has already won 129 medals. There were 30 gold, 36 silver and 63 bronze in 24 editions of the Olympic Games.
The modality that won the most gold medals in the history of Brazilian sport is sailing, with seven, at the Olympics in Moscow-1980, Atlanta-1996, Athens-2004 and Rio-2016, the one that brought the most medals to Brazil, either from gold, silver or bronze, it was judo, with 22, there were four gold, three silver and fifteen bronze.
The Rio 2016 Olympic Games had the largest Brazilian delegation in the history of the competition. With 465 athletes, Team Brasil closed its participation with a record 19 medals, seven gold, six silver and six bronze, and the unprecedented 12th place in the overall medals table, tied with Holland.
